Family Genealogy and Family Bible Records Scanning Event
Researching family history can be exciting and challenging. You may have original family records that give valuable birth, death and marriage information that would be invaluable for other family researchers. These could be Family Bibles, diaries, wills, or other family records that are not already on the internet or published. The DAR Library in Washington, D. C. collects this information and makes it available for researchers – and you can add to this important collection. On Saturday, May 3, 2025, the Fielding Lewis DAR chapter is sponsoring a Family Records Preservation Day from 10 – 4 at the Switzer Library. Schedule a time to bring your family documents – including Family Bibles – to be scanned at the Georgia Room. Bring a flash drive to save the images. Registration is required to ensure enough time for each person’s documents to be scanned.
